The meeting will consist of invited/solicited talks (20-40 minutes),
contributed talks (15 minutes) and posters. There may be room within the program
to upgrade some contributed talks to (longer) solicited talks if such talks are
considered of special interest to the participants. We also plan to leave room
for last-minute new results. To be considered for oral talks, please submit your
abstract by May 1, 2007.
Tentative List of Topics
- Core collapse of massive stars and SNe, formation of NS and BH, effect of
rotation of B field, collapsars.
- Various manifestations of NSs: Pulsars, magnetars (AXP/SGR); thermal and
nonthermal (radio and high-E) emission; surfaces and magnetospheres; internal
structure & dynamics; transient pulsars; pulsar wind nebulae and SNRs.
- Pulsars/NSs as a tool: binary pulsars, probe of dense matter, GR,
gravitational wave background and ISM.
- X-ray binaries: spectrum and variability, accreting X-ray pulsars.
- BH accretion: accretion physics, jets/outflows, microquasars, probe of
strong gravity (e.g. Fe K line)
- Ultraluminous X-ray sources and IMBH.
- BH in the Galactic Center (stars and gas). AGN accretion flow.
- GRBs: afterglows and high-energy emission, recent SWIFT results, GRB/SNe
connection, GRB hosts, long/short GRBs, physics of relativistic flows and
particle accelerations; application of GRBs to astronomy.
- Compact binary evolution, ultracompact binaries. WD accretion and merger,
SN Ia progenitors and explosions.
- Sources of gravitational waves: LIGO and LISA sources/sciences; coalescing
compact binaries, recent GR simulations.
- Future prospects: GLAST, LIGO, LISA, Con-X, SKA, etc.
